Last Greatest Show on Earth in Charlotte: Ringling Brothers Circus

Disclosure: I have been given free tickets to attend and promote this show. No monetary compensation has been given. All opinions are my own.

It’s that time of year again. Time for the circus!! We have had great experiences and memories of the circus in my past. I was absolutely saddened to hear that the circus will close this May. I loved watching the elephants and lion shows, so yes I didn’t mind the animal portions. I adored the acrobats, and the motorcycles, and death-defying acts that they performed. I am sad to think of those people in the circus acts having to find new jobs. Are there other options for them out there? I am sad to think about all those that set up and help move the show from town to town will also have to find new jobs.

So today, instead of being sad, I am going to celebrate the wonder and magic of the circus. I am taking my family for one last show. And boy, I can only imagine what the show will be like. Most groups go out with a bang when they know an incredible journey is coming to an end, and so this “Greatest Show on Earth” is truly going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!!

I can’t wait to ooh and awe over the show and take in all the memories one last time. I will be showing my support for this show and the magic it has brought me over the years by spending money on all the things. Yes programs, light ups, and the food!!! I ask you to join me in showing your support this last time.

Overall Opening Act

Show Blurb: Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® invites fans in Charlotte to engage in a new circus experience. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Out Of This WorldTM is a cosmic voyage that takes families to space to witness incredible acrobatic performances on various planets introduced through lead characters and a good versus evil storyline. “By adding the element of ice, we’re bringing speed and motion to an already thrilling, multisensory performance,” said Feld. “Throughout the show, families won’t know where the floor ends and the ice begins. In the same way, parents won’t know what’s more amazing: what is happening in front of them or the look of wonder in their children’s eyes.”, said Alana Feld, Executive Vice President of Feld Entertainment and Producer of Out Of This World

  1. I remember my parents taking me in Raleigh when I was around 8 yrs old. I thought it was the best night ever. I looked at the program for weeks after. I’d love to be able to share it with my kiddos (and the little ones never been, so I really want him to experience it at least once).

  2. My favorite memory of the circus was when we took Gracen for the first time. He has always loved elephants and even at a year old, he lit up when he saw those beautiful creatures! He is 10 now and we have only missed the circus a couple of times. We are definitely going to miss it after it is gone but are so happy to have the memories!! I hope to take our little for the first and last time this year. She will love it!

  3. I remember when my parents took me the circus when i was 10, they let me get all the cotton candy I wanted and let me pick one special toy for the night. I got a blue flashlight with a tiger head on it which I carried around with me for a few months after the circus.

  4. I remember going as a child and loving the acrobats and tiger show. I remember how they always had 3 things going on at the same time and not knowing which way to look because I didn’t want to miss anything. My 3 boys have never been and since this is the last one, I don’t want to miss the experience and memories I have.

  5. when I was a little girl we took my cousin brian to the circus- it was my mom and my dad and me- and maybe some others but i Know us/brian and I will never forget we saw this woman that looked EXACTLY like his mom- and he was freaking out going MOMMY MOMMY and of course this woman didn’t know who we were so she just kept looking at us like we were crazy and he would just cry because he thought his mom was ignoring him! I can’t remember it all exactly but now it makes me want to ask my mom about it

  6. I used to beg my parents to go every year, even when I was a teenager. I loved the clowns and audience participation. My son is three and I don’t want him to miss out on the greatest show on earth.

  7. My favorite memory is going with Mark when we first started dating. I still have the tickets in our special memory box. Our boys have never been…I would like for them to experience this. It is certainly something to remember.
